Meet Our Doctor

Dr. Peter U. Wolff, DMD

Dr. Wolff earned a B.A. in German literature from Amherst College and his D.M.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis. During two years active duty stationed in Spain with the U.S. Navy Dental Corps he earned an M.S.Ed. degree from the European Division of the University of Southern California. He then completed a one-year hospital-based General Practice Dental Residency, which provided additional training and experience in many areas of general dentistry.

Dr. Wolff has been practicing in East Greenwich since 1981, since 1991 in his current office. He continued his affiliation with the Naval Reserve, from which he has retired as a Captain with 30 years of service. On weekends as needed he continues to perform dental examinations and treatment for National Guard and Reserve personnel.

Dr. Wolff is committed to the delivery of excellent dentistry. He was recognized by the votes of his peers as a “Top Dentist” in Rhode Island Monthly in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. He has attained Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry and has attended many hours of continuing education. He applies his skills with a sincere concern for the comfort and health of his adult and child patients. Through years of experience he has mastered techniques that enable him to deliver dentistry with maximum comfort.

Dr. Wolff has been active in the community and in “giving back.” For many years he spoke in local schools ranging from nursery school to high school on the importance of dental health, especially about the effects of smokeless tobacco. He has been an active member of the Rhode Island Dental Association, including heading up National Children’s Dental Health Month and serving on the Committee on Legislative Affairs. His office is a clinical site for the mentoring and training of CCRI and Lincoln Tech dental assisting students. He participates regularly with Donated Dental Services, which provides dental care to handicapped and medically compromised persons and has volunteered during 4 of its 5 years with the RI Mission of Mercy.
